Sporting Clays Class Description
Our sporting clays class is geared towards individuals and small groups and is tailored to your level of experience. We specialize in two types of shooters – people who have never shot clays before, and people who are relatively new to the sport and would like to take their game to the next level.
Students can expect a thorough explanation of rules, safety, protocol, shotgun functionality, stance, proper gun mounting, sight picture, target acquisition, lead, timing, follow through, and strategy for the different types of target presentations. (We understand that some students are more advanced than others so we tailor the class to your level of proficiency).
This class is 100% interactive. Students should come prepared to shoot and have a good time!
What to bring
We encourage you to bring your own shotgun for this class. However, if you do not have one, you may rent one from the gun club. Also, bring at least four boxes of ammunition. Ammo can be number 9, 8, or 7.5 shot size and only 2 ¾ shell length. If you do not have ammunition or are unsure of what to buy, it is available at the gun club and your instructor can help you through the process. Lastly, you will need eye and ear protection. (We recommend the “foam insert” style ear protection over the head phone style for this class) If you don’t have eye and ear protection, it will be available to you on the day of your class.
